Last week the BlueBelles took part in their first ever competition, the Mid Somerset Festival held in Bath at the Guildhall. This has been on our ‘to do list’ for quite some time.
2016 looks like being another busy year for The BlueBelles. So far we have entered two competitions – The Mid Somerset Festival and the Choir of the Year, both of which we have been accepted into.
Back in September, the BlueBelles were booked to sing for a couple of ‘corporate’ Christmas functions for the British Army. The first one was at Army HQ in Andover and this was followed a week later by a visit to sing for the Warrant Officers Christmas do at Buckley Barracks just on the edge of Chippenham in Wiltshire.
On Sunday 18 October The BlueBelles were in Bristol singing at St George’s as part of the finale of the 2015 Bristol Festival of Song.
Last Sunday, The BlueBelles performed as part of a ‘Musical Matinee’ at the Pewsey Heritage Centre. On this occasion there were 6 of us, and the split was such we only had 1 singer on each of the inner parts (technically the Lead and the Baritone if you adopt strict barbershop terminology!).
Last night (26 September 2015), The BlueBelles performed at a concert entitled ‘Voices on the Hill” which took place in the Theatre on the Hill at St John’s College, Marlborough.
Tomorrow (Saturday 5 September 2015) we will be singing alongside the GWH Choir in a fundraising Concert for Pregnancy Choices.
On Saturday The BlueBelles performed at the Marlborough International Jazz Festival. We were given a 90 minute slot at St Mary’s Church to sing from 6pm until 7.30pm.
We will be singing at St Mary’s Church, Marlborough as part of the 2015 Marlborough Jazz Festival, this Saturday 18 July from 6pm. We’d love to see you there!
Last Sunday, the BlueBelles featured as one of 15 choirs singing at the first ever Swindon Choir Festival which was held at the Bowl in the Old Town Gardens. The event was being put on to raise money for the Open Door Charity which has recently lost some of its funding.
