Our first Christmas gig this year involved singing in the Town Hall in Calne. Earlier in the year we had performed for the Calne Spring Sing and we had such a great time, and apparently were so popular with the punters that we were invited back to take part in the Calne Christmas Festival.
The format was slightly different from previously. Unlike the Spring Sing where we had been performing at different venues throughout the town, this event was held solely in the Town Hall. Around 10 local choirs took part from 1pm onwards, singing Christmas Songs and other festive tunes throughout the afternoon.
We were given 15 minutes to entertain the crowds in Calne and the Town Hall was packed for our set. We have quite a lot of Christmas events to perform at this year and so are learning lots of new Christmas songs. One of our new songs, which we performed for the first time was ‘The Man with the Bag’. This arrangement was provided by Julie Gaulke who has created some stunning close harmony arrangements of a lot of songs.
Don’t worry if you missed this event, you can hear us singing again next Saturday (8 December 2018) at the Burbage Christmas Tree Sale where we shall be singing even more songs!
The 2018 Calne Christmas Festival & Lantern Parade was organised by Calne Town Council and also included opportunities to meet Santa as well as a Guinness World Record attempt.
