Pewsey Heritage Centre is one of our favourite places to sing. Not just because of the lovely acoustic, but also because of the warm welcome we always receive here. This May, we returned for our third concert in this lovely venue and we were delighted to be performing to a packed house. Of course the audience also had the added incentive of afternoon tea to accompany our singing.
A lot of the events we sing at are fundraising for various charities. Today, we were helping to support the Pewsey Heritage Centre. For such events we generally do not charge in order to maximise the support which can go to the beneficiaries. On this occasion we were rewarded with a cream tea. Additionally we all got a present – Jules even got a bottle of gin which he was most pleased about and has promised to share with us at a forthcoming rehearsal!
Early indications suggest that we raised in excess of £300 for the Heritage Centre as a result of our short afternoon concert.
Always keen to entertain and delight our audiences we presented six new songs amongst the set of 12. These new songs included Under the Sea, The Way You Look Tonight & Feeling Good. We also premiered our version of Only Time which is scored in 8 parts (SSSSAAAA). This means firstly we all have to be there and secondly there is only one person per part, so nowhere to hide!
Here we are singing our version of ‘Under the Sea’.
If you would like to hear us sing then our next performance will be on Saturday 8 June 2019 with Oxford Welsh Male Voice Choir. For this we are travelling to Kennington, Oxfordshire
