The BlueBelles were delighted to be asked to sing at the switching on of the Marlborough Christmas Lights this year. This annual event is organised by Marlborough Town Council and brings together a number of local groups on the stage outside the Town Hall. Arriving just before 6pm we met up in the Town Hall
Pewsey Heritage Centre is one of our favourite places to sing. Not just because of the lovely acoustic, but also because of the warm welcome we always receive here. This May, we returned for our third concert in this lovely venue and we were delighted to be performing to a packed house. Of course
October will be a busy month for us. First we are off on our travels to Barnstaple where we will be singing with the fantastic Barnstaple Male Voice Choir. This invitation came about a year or so ago when our Musical Director, Jules, recorded the Barnstaple men and produced a CD for them.
It’s always a pleasure to sing. Even better in such a beautiful location with an appreciative audience! How lucky we are to be able to have arranged this Afternoon of Jazz at Marlborough Town Hall last Sunday.
On Saturday The BlueBelles performed at the Marlborough International Jazz Festival. We were given a 90 minute slot at St Mary’s Church to sing from 6pm until 7.30pm.
Last Sunday, the BlueBelles featured as one of 15 choirs singing at the first ever Swindon Choir Festival which was held at the Bowl in the Old Town Gardens. The event was being put on to raise money for the Open Door Charity which has recently lost some of its funding.
