The BlueBelles are ultimately not a competitive choir. Quite frankly they would rather sing for tea and cake than for a judge. Nevertheless, sometimes it’s a good idea to step outside of your comfort zone and the occasional challenge, in the form of competition, is good for them. At least this is my view.
Last month Lucy, one of our fabulous Second Alto’s, turned 40. Well so she says anyway. She doesn’t look a day over 30 so it may well be she’s just got confused. So naturally there was a party, and all the BlueBelles, along with lots of Lucy’s other friends, were invited.
Last Sunday, The BlueBelles performed as part of a ‘Musical Matinee’ at the Pewsey Heritage Centre. On this occasion there were 6 of us, and the split was such we only had 1 singer on each of the inner parts (technically the Lead and the Baritone if you adopt strict barbershop terminology!).
Last night (26 September 2015), The BlueBelles performed at a concert entitled ‘Voices on the Hill” which took place in the Theatre on the Hill at St John’s College, Marlborough.
Tomorrow (Saturday 5 September 2015) we will be singing alongside the GWH Choir in a fundraising Concert for Pregnancy Choices.
